The gas valve is one of the components of the shut-off equipment, units are installed on the routes of gas pipelines of Rosgaz, as well as on cylinders. The purpose of the valves is to block the flow of gas if necessary. Devices are divided into shut-off valves and fine adjustment valves. Depending on the operating conditions of the device, the necessary technical characteristics are selected. Valves are also divided depending on the environment in which they will be operated. They are divided into:
- carbon dioxide valves;
- acetylene valves;
- oxygen valves;
- the valves of the hydrogen;
- propane valves.
A needle type gas shut-off valve is used to control the gas flow in the gas pipeline. Thanks to such shut-off valves it is possible to block a stream completely or to change its intensity by change of a gleam of diameter of a pipe. The valve can be used not only in gas pipelines, but also in pipelines that pump liquid. The valves are mounted in the drain-vent lines, thermal equipment, installation of pressure switches. Also, the valve shut-off equipment is installed in the conductors, where the test gas supply is carried out. The valve in the pipelines is designed for pressure up to 250 kgf / cm2, temperature can reach 300 degrees. Thanks to the steel body and asbestos packing, the heat resistance of such shut-off valves is ensured.
Shut-off cylinder valve is practically no different from the track valve except for operating conditions. It is installed on cylinders with liquefied gas. At the inlet, the working pressure does not exceed 16 kgf/cm2, the valve operates in the temperature range from minus 45 degrees to plus 45 degrees. If the pumped gas is hydrogen or other explosive gases, a diaphragm gas valve is used. If the valve is open, the valve chamber is sealed with a membrane. This prevents the connection of hydrogen with oxygen.
